Create Prismarion Realm Dragon Egg Mosaic with your Favorite Character.
Have 15 minutes, a pile of paper scraps, and a kid who loves dragons? Turn your recycling bin into a hoard of legendary dragon eggs with this easy, low-prep mosaic craft.
What You'll Need
Your printed dragon story or coloring page
Scrap paper (construction paper, old magazines, junk mail, or tissue paper)
Safety scissors and school glue (or a glue stick)
A cardboard backing (an old cereal box works perfectly!)
Step 1: Meet the Dragon.
Sit down together and read through the dragon adventure. Meet the characters and get inspired by the world they live in.
Step 2: Plan the Egg.
On your cardboard backing or a plain piece of paper, draw a large oval "dragon egg" shape.
Gather paper scraps. Practice fine motor skills by ripping the paper into small, irregular pieces or cutting them into geometric shapes.
Step 3: Build the Hoard.
Apply glue inside the egg outline and start layering the paper scraps.
Overlapping the pieces slightly creates a beautiful, textured, 3D "scaled" effect that looks just like a real dragon egg hatching in the realm.
Imagination Story Prompts
While waiting for your egg (or eggs!) to dry, talk about the scene. Here are a few story prompts to ignite your imagination:
When do you think the egg is ready to hatch? Why?
What will this dragon’s favorite part of the realm be, once it hatches?
What do you think the baby dragon’s name should be?
